Deputy President Gachagua Criticizes Mt Kenya MPs

During the official opening of the Central Kenya ASK show at Kabiru-ini grounds in Nyeri on Friday, September 13, Deputy President Gachagua labeled certain politicians as betrayers. He compared their behavior to a Kikuyu tale involving a hare and a hyena, where the hare escapes unscathed while the hyena faces the consequences. Gachagua accused the MPs of acting out of self-interest, aiming to divide the Mt Kenya region and weaken the unity of Kenya Kwanza. He vowed to confront the political schemes against him at the appropriate moment, hinting at a strategic response to his critics. This follows remarks by Githunguri MP Gathoni Wamuchomba, a vocal supporter of the DP, who claimed that some lawmakers are using Gachagua to rehabilitate their image after losing favor with their constituents by supporting the unpopular Finance Bill 2024, which was widely opposed across the country.
