Jimmi Wanjigi Freed On 10 Million Personal Bail
A Sh10 million personal bail has been granted to businessman Jimi Wanjigi, pending the outcome of the plea deferment hearing scheduled for next month.
Wanjigi is charged of possessing unauthorized firearms; the outcome of the September 12 ruling will determine if he enters a plea.
Wanjigi was simultaneously instructed by Chief Magistrate Susan Shitubi to keep his passport on file as she awaited the September 12 verdict.
His attorneys, Paul Muite, John Khaminwa, and Wiper Leader Kalonzo Musyoka, filed an application to postpone the plea taking on the grounds that their client's rights had been infringed.
They claimed that Justice Bahati Mwamuye had issued a high court ruling halting his arrest and custody.
