Babu Owino Expresses Interest in Succeeding Raila as ODM Lead

Babu Owino, a young and vocal Member of Parliament under the ODM banner, has been a staunch supporter of the party and its leader, Raila Odinga. Recently, Owino announced his intention to succeed Raila as the head of the Orange Democratic Movement (ODM). He disclosed that he had already reached out to the ODM Central Management Committee, urging them to consider his candidacy for the leadership position.

Babu emphasized the importance of having a leader capable of challenging President William Ruto in the 2027 elections. He urged the Central Management Committee to take his desire to lead seriously, stating that his leadership would elevate the party and help renew Kenya’s political landscape.

If selected, Owino promised to prioritize youth empowerment, highlighting the critical role young people play in preserving Raila's legacy. His leadership agenda focuses on political and economic liberation, along with advocating for much-needed electoral reforms in the country.
