Kalonzo Criticizes Senate Over Gachagua's Ouster Amid Hospitalization

Speaking to the media after visiting Rigathi Gachagua at Karen Hospital on Friday, Kalonzo Musyoka expressed his disapproval of how the Senate handled the situation. He argued that lawmakers should have allowed Gachagua time to recover instead of pushing him to defend himself immediately. Gachagua was admitted to Karen Hospital in Nairobi on Thursday and is currently receiving medical care.

Kalonzo condemned the Senate for rushing the impeachment process, insisting that Gachagua was unfairly removed from office and the procedure was flawed. His position was supported by other opposition figures who were present, including Democratic Action Party-Kenya (DAP-K) leader Eugene Wamalwa, former Kiambu Governor Ferdinand Waititu, and several Senators allied with Gachagua.Wamalwa also criticized Raila Odinga’s ODM party, remarking that Azimio-affiliated parties could no longer pretend to have harmonious relations with ODM. “Moving forward, it is clear we are no longer like-minded," Wamalwa stated.
