Kithure Kindiki Promises Changes If Re-Appointed As Interior CS

Interior Cabinet Secretary nominee  who is the first candidate to be vetted by the memebers of parliament has disclsoed the new things he will introduces if re-appointed.

The former CS who has been under sharp scrutiny admitted that some of the promises he made have not been achieved including the operationalisation of new administrative units.

Answering questions and redeemig himslef during the vetting process by the National Assembly Committee on Thursday, Kindiki noted that some of the promises made during his visit to Pokot have been realised which are provision, training and equipping of 200 National Police Reservists for West Pokot and the setting up of a security camp at Lami Nyeupe.

"The issue of units is outstanding and not just for West Pokot but also for a few other counties including some parts of Baringo, Samburu and a few other counties that did not benefit from the operationalisation of units. That is work that we are going to complete if we are reappointed," Kindiki said.

Answering the question of giving control to police over resources related to the operations, Kindiki was not opposed to the idea addding that his new plan will help police work effectivley and in a much better manner.

"The operational budget of the police must be run by the National Police Service themselves and not by the Ministry, not by the Office of the President, "These are issues we will be looking at if reappointed," Kindiki said.
