Kijabe Residents Protest Power Outages, Stranding Motorists for 12 Hours!

Motorists on the Nairobi-Nakuru Highway faced a gruelling ordeal, stranded for over 12 hours due to a massive traffic jam caused by local protests in the Kijabe area. The situation unfolded late Friday night as frustrated residents took to the streets, blocking the road in a demonstration against Kenya Power and Lighting.

The community's anger stemmed from persistent power outages that had plagued the area, leaving them without reliable electricity. As the night wore on, hundreds of travellers found themselves trapped in their vehicles, enduring the cold and uncertainty of when they would be able to continue their journeys.

Police attributed the lengthy delays to the protests, emphasizing the residents' urgent plea for a restoration of power supply. The standoff highlighted the growing frustration among Kenyans regarding infrastructure issues, as the local community sought to draw attention to their plight in hopes of prompting action from the power company.
