According to Chief Justice Martha Koome who presided over the Judiciary National Day of Prayer and Fasting thee event is aimed at praying for: Integrity, righteousness & justice; Comfort & Peace; Judiciary leadership - Wisdom; Judiciary Families; Nation- Unity & Understanding, Peace & Prosperity, and Protection, Premature deaths & misfortune, Strength in the Institution, among other issues.

Judiciary Holds Prayer And Fasting Day

Members of the Judicial Service of Kenya have held special prayers today at Milimani Law Courts.

The event was prepared by Judiciary Day of Prayer and Fasting Planning Committee headed by  Court of Appeal Judge Lydia Achode .

According to Chief Justice Martha Koome who presided over the Judiciary National Day of Prayer and Fasting thee event is aimed at praying for: Integrity, righteousness & justice; Comfort & Peace; Judiciary leadership - Wisdom; Judiciary Families; Nation- Unity & Understanding, Peace & Prosperity, and Protection, Premature deaths & misfortune, Strength in the Institution, among other issues. 

This prayer day comes at a time when the judiciary has losta lot of its members to death.

''The Judiciary has gone through difficult times where the institution lost judges, a magistrate and several staff over the last six months, as the country also experienced difficult times.''CJ Martha Koome noted.

On 10th July Highcourt Judge lost his life at Nairobi hospital where he was receiving medication. Makadara ,Margistrate Monica Kivuti lost her life while undergoing treatment after being shot following a judgemet she had passed. 

The prayers are also being conducted in all courts, countrywide
