Former Governor Waititu Arrested over Alleged Hate Speech remarks.
Former Kiambu Governor Ferdinand Waititu is facing accusations of allegedly making inflammatory remarks in his native Kikuyu language during a past event in Kiambu County. Waititu has been arrested and is currently being held at the DCI headquarters along Kiambu Road in Nairobi.
His lawyer, Ndegwa Njiru, confirmed that Waititu was apprehended while conducting his daily activities along the Eastern Bypass. Despite this, the officers insisted on detaining Waititu while they complete their initial investigations.
Ndegwa also mentioned that they are actively engaging with detectives to secure Waititu's release ,his friends and the former Cabinet Secretary Eugene Wamalwa are at the DCI.
