In a coordinated effort spanning over 31 counties, the youth of Kitengela in Kajiado have mobilized for upcoming demonstrations slated for the 16th and 18th of July. Gathered for an exclusive interview with Top Prime Radio, these young voices articulated their grievances and outlined their plans for the upcoming demonstrations.

Central to their demands is a complete overhaul of the current administration led by Deputy President Ruto, whom they criticize for failing to meet their expectations while reshuffling his cabinet. "We have seen the President sack all Cabinet Secretaries and leave Prime CS Musalia Mudavadi. We want the whole government down," asserted one of the youth leaders.

Expressing a deep-seated frustration with the status quo, they adamantly declared, "We don’t want any dialogue." They issued a stern warning to political figures, particularly cautioning Raila Odinga to keep his distance from what they perceive as an unjust government.

Amidst their calls for change, the youth of Kitengela were emphatic about their commitment to peaceful protests. They urged local businesses to remain closed during the demonstrations to prevent any potential destruction. Equally, they called upon the police to maintain order without resorting to excessive force. "Any form of violent demonstration has highly been discouraged," they emphasized.

Highlighting longstanding grievances within their community, they lamented the delayed completion of the Kitengela market center, which has been under construction for over five years. They also expressed a pressing need for improved recreational facilities and social halls within Kitengela.

In a clear message directed at law enforcement, they issued a dual promise: "We are giving a stern warning to the police: stay calm on 16th and 18th, and we will surrender to you those that try to cause chaos. If you come with police brutality, we come with mass brutality."

Their impassioned plea for change underscores a generation's call for accountability and improvement in governance. As they gear up for the upcoming demonstrations, the youth of Kitengela remain steadfast in their resolve to effect meaningful change, calling upon the broader community to stand with them in their quest for a better future.
