''You don’t Have To Agree With My Political Affiliation'' Karen Nyamu Responds To Kortex

Nominated Senator Karen Nyamu has responded after Kotex Kenya denied claims that her team was in talks with the company for a prospective partnership.

On Sunday, June 30, Kotex clarified that no discussions had taken place with Senator Nyamu, labeling the politician’s statements as false.

“Any assertions regarding a prospective partnership involving Kotex are entirely false. Our commitment remains steadfast in championing women’s progress for all Kenyans,” the company stated. “We emphasize that Kotex does not engage in any political affiliations or endorsements. We maintain our dedication to transparency and accuracy in all communications.”

Senator Nyamu, in response, highlighted her foundation's efforts to assist vulnerable girls in the country, urging Kenyans to focus on the charitable work rather than her political affiliations.

“You don’t have to agree with my political affiliation, but you can appreciate this noble cause my foundation has undertaken to expose our girls to alternative feminine hygiene products like tampons and period cups,” she said.

Senator Nyamu asserted her foundation's commitment to various causes, stating, "You have seen me on the ground delivering. You have also seen us take up causes that have benefited society. You have seen me announce projects that have been successful."

Addressing the recent controversy, Nyamu remarked, "Sometimes companies forget political figures are also people, and what we do to impact the community is bigger than ourselves. Regarding Kotex Kenya, I feel sorry for the backlash you endured yesterday due to my political stance amid the country's heightened political climate. Our aim is not to set you up, so we will let it rest there."
