President William Ruto has issued a resolute condemnation against individuals and organizations that he asserts are funding youth demonstrations across the country.

Speaking during the foundation stone laying ceremony for the Keringet fresh produce market in Kuresoi South Constituency, Nakuru County, Ruto expressed strong disapproval of those he accuses of sponsoring unrest and chaos. "Our youth are not available for retrogressive assignments. Those sponsoring them to cause violence and mayhem must be ashamed of themselves," President Ruto stated, addressing the escalating protests scheduled for the 16th and 18th of this month. He singled out the Ford Foundation, calling for transparency regarding its alleged involvement in the recent unrest, and pledged to expose any attempts to destabilize the country's democracy.

Accompanied by Deputy President Rigathi, Governor Susan Kihika, MPs, and MCAs, Ruto underscored the significance of the Keringet fresh produce market project for local economic development. However, his remarks have triggered a range of responses across social media platforms, reflecting the diverse opinions among Kenyans. In response to Ruto's stance, one commentator argued, "Youths are peacefully protesting against bad governance, opulence, corruption, and mismanagement of public funds. They want speedy actions taken to stop these vices in our society."

While another countered Ruto's criticism of external funding, stating, "You fired your entire cabinet not because of the Ford Foundation. Your ministers were incompetent even before the appointments and many people called you out for it."

As tensions continue to mount, Ruto's condemnation of external sponsors underscores the gravity of the situation. The upcoming demonstrations on the 16th and 18th are set to be pivotal moments in Kenya's political landscape, prompting renewed calls for dialogue and decisive action to address underlying grievances driving dissent nationwide.
