A young Ugandan Tiktoker has been slapped with a 6 year imprisonment after hurling insults at Ugandan President Yoweri Kaguta Museveni and his family.
The Tiktoker identified as Edward Awebwa allegedly recorded and uploaded information that was damaging and derogatory the president's reputation and that of his immideate family.
Appearing before chief Margistrate Stella-Maris Amabirisi ,the accused pleaded guilty at his own request which saw the magistrate slap him a 6 year jail term.
He was charged with uploading a video on TikTok in which he uterred obsene remarks about the Uganda's Head of State,his wife Janet, and their First Son, General Muhoozi Kainerugaba.
A resident of Nama in Mukono District, Awebwa was arrested last week and brought to court where he admitted to all four charges read against him.
Awebwa to six years for each offense,he will serve all four sentences concurrently a ruling that Magistrate reageded as friendly in relation to his age.
However ,the prosecution side led by Janet Kitumbo, had requested a heavier sentence as a warning to other youths who continue to misuse social media platforms.
