The Utility company has announced that Kenyans can travel from Nairobi to Naivasha and back using only KSh400 with an electric car.
Accoding to KPLC owners of electric commuter cars can fully charge their vehicles with only KSh400 worth of electricity tokens, in under an hour enabling them to travel for up to 240 kilometers on a single charge.
“With four hundred shillings worth of electricity tokens (400/=), you get to charge your electric car to full capacity in under an hour, giving you the freedom to travel up to 240kms. This is like travelling from Nairobi to Naivasha and back,” KPLC, hellbent on spurring the uptake of electric vehicles in Kenya, says.

The e-mobility tariff is one of Kenya Power’s strategic plan for 2023-2028, which leveraging new business areas to sustain profitability and grow shareholder value.
