''Raila Has Not Yet Retired From Party Leadership'' ODM Clarifies
The ODM party has corrected the narrative that cRaila Odinga has not retired from politics as claimed by a media report.
In a statement, issued by Secretary General Edwin Sifuna ,media report was made in absolute bad faith and was intended to create despondency among supporters of the Orange party.
"Several times, Rt. Hon. Raila Odinga has informed the country that he will be presenting himself for election to the position of chairman of the African Union Commission during elections to be held in February 2025.
"As matters stand now, neither Odinga nor the Orange Democratic Movement has announced his exit and retirement from party leadership," he said asking ODM members and its supporters to treat the media report with the contempt it deserves.
The media report alledged that the party is planning for Raila's exit as early as next month, to focus on his AUC chairmanship campaigns.
It further stated that some key leaders from within the party have been fronted as possible replacements for the former Prime Minister.
